I am not a big gamer when it comes to mobile devices, but once in a while a great game comes along that offers plenty of challenges, is easy to play and has great graphics. I discovered Alto’s Adventure on Google Play is such a game.
Join Alto and his friends as they embark on an endless snowboarding odyssey. Journey across the beautiful alpine hills of their native wilderness, through neighbouring villages, ancient woodlands, and long-abandoned ruins.
Along the way you’ll rescue runaway llamas, grind rooftops, leap over terrifying chasms and outwit the mountain elders – all while braving the ever changing elements and passage of time upon the mountain
Yesterday I visited the dentist for some tooth work. Last year I put off having a crown repaired because it wasn’t painful nor did the tooth have a nerve in it, so I wasn’t too bothered about it. I also didn’t have enough money in my dental plan to deal with it. I told the dentist I was going to increase my dental plan and use it this year to fix all the problems. Ha! I remember the expression on the dentists face when I told him that. Leave a bad tooth in your mouth, are you nuts?
Three months on and Murphy’s law called upon me, since I have had some pain somewhere near or on that tooth. Just some throbbing every now and again, no stabbing pain when eating or drinking hot or cold food/drink, so I arranged a dentist appointment.
The original tooth had root canal and was capped with a metal crown. I reckon it was done about 10 years ago by a dentist in Surrey Quays. The crown was now broken and had a hole right through the top and side, so my dentist wanted to investigate.
Don’t believe the scaremongers, despite all the hype over user numbers recently, Twitter is not in trouble and has a great future. I am confident they will grow even bigger over time. There is no need to rush to be as big as Facebook.
The problem is every Tom, Dick and Harry trading analyst or so called “expert in growth companies” are comparing Twitter to Facebook and the two are very different companies and I will explain why.
For starters there are NOT billions of the following people:
Glory seekers, A to Z celebrities craving fame and attention, Bollywood, sports, porn stars, artists, musicians, astronauts going to the I.S.S. to perform scientific trickery, terrorists wanting to cause global mayhem, police, ambulance, earthquake, volcano, tornado, hurricane, flood, train, road traffic monitors, politicians and government officials spreading propaganda through state owned news outlets, news papers etc.
I lost my entire website this morning after running a database cleaner plugin. One would think given the grave consequences of my actions, that it would show a pop-up “YOU ARE ABOUT TO DELETE ALL TABLES – ARE YOU SURE?”, but alas, it went ahead and deleted everything and when I refreshed my website was gone!
That split second took a few years off my life. I’ve been blogging on this website for 12+ years. The time and effort put into my site is priceless. Yes I had a backup, but it wasn’t from this week or last month. Yes I should have taken one prior to cleaning a few tables of revision data, but I didn’t. It was my fault for being stupid, but seriously WordPress Plugin developers, add another check before wiping out tables that are very important. That would be good programming.
I rang Bluehost.com my hosting company and had to wait 36 freaking long minutes to get through to a human. (more on why at the end).
I explained what I had done, and Bluehost noted I had a Pro account and that there were nightly, weekly, and monthly backups of all my websites. Those words were like winning the lottery. What a relief?
Anyway, if you are on a Pro account like Bowen and wondering where to find your backups on Bluehost, have a look in the Cpanel home page.
The folks at CyanogenMod have released a Marshmallow Android 6.0.1 ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S2. That is pretty damn amazing considering the smartphone was last seen in 2011.
I couldn’t resist giving it a try to see if it worked, but it does and it runs nicely surprisingly on only 1GB of RAM.
If you are going to give it a try out, chances are your SGS2 has Android Kitkat 4.x installed on it, which means the kernel and recovery will be too old. The partition for marshmallow is different as well so that will have to be formatted.
If you don’t have the patience to read through 1273 pages of forum to find out about the bugs and problems or how to do install it, then keep reading below… I will provide the instructions and links.
I stumbled upon an incredibly useful and beautiful new home tab page extension for my Chrome browser. It is called Home – New Tab Page.
On my 27-inch Dell monitor it looks incredible while on my Surface Pro 4, touching the icons is effortless. All my key apps or favorite websites are right at my finger tips, as well as notifications, calendar events, time, date and a large Google search bar.
It is perfect especially since my Google profile follows me where ever I go. Not to mention I can select from a bunch of awesome backgrounds. The crazy thing is this extension is free. Kudos to the author, but there really should be a donation button.
Some of the features of the extensions are as follows:
