So as of tomorrow if you are applying for British Naturalization, you have to sit a “Britishness Test“. A word used on the Sky news website, but is actually not even a real word. (look it up, if you don’t believe me).
As you may have gathered, Jo and I are going to have to do this silly test, not that it’s a problem, but it’s ridiculous and a complete waste of money. That is all it is, another way of getting money out of hard working foreigners. We have been living and working in England for over six years, and now have to prove we know British history and custom. We probably know more about Britain than some of the people who have lived here all their lives.
I mean, you just have to watch “Who wants to be a millionaire?“, to see the dumb idiots who don’t even know who Sir Winston Churchhill was or what he did?
Oh! well, they can give us their silly test, and we will pay our hard earned money, and I am quite sure we will pass.

Mike, “Britishness” is indead a real word, as used by the Oxford Dictionary of English (Second Edition, Revised) bought off Amazon last week (The big thick 2074 pages one that is great as a door stop). Sorry to rain on your rant ;-))

Aha! Not true on ” No more Asylum Seekers”. Only true if Tony gives the Asylum Seekers this test when they enter the country. Most AS are coming into the country and disappearing into the system forever. I doubt they will even do the test 6 years later. No, I disagree, this test is just another money making racket cooked up by some boared politician.
