Google do have some awesome logos for the various famous days of the year. Todays one is no exception.
Oh well, I am sure if you live in a “nice” neighbourhood, you will be hearing a knock or two on your door tonight from the trick or treat kids. Lets hope they look like these two else there will be no sweets.

It's Friday & it's Halloween - Enjoy!
There is a new version of Gmail for Symbian & RIM phones or phones supporting J2ME. Version 2.0 is available at http://m.google.com/mail
It looks good and they have added extra support for multiple accounts, so one is able to switch to other email addresses. Extremely useful if you have more than one mail address.
There is also offline support which is great if you are on a train writing an email and about to send, when suddenly you are going through a tunnel or in an area with no reception. The email gets saved in your Outbox, and when you have signal again, the email is sent automatically.
Did you know Gmail has it’s own blog. Check it out, it’s very good.

I was doing a search for N-gage in Google, and noticed that Google is actually warning us of sites that may harm our computers. How clever is that?
If one clicks into the link, there is another page with a warning, and you can go one step further and actually see why Google say it may be harmful. This is exactly why I like Google so much. Over time I would imagine they will be able to tell us all sites that are malicious or contain viruses or spyware.

If you want to read all about this “safe browsing” then vist http://www.n-gage.com/ngi/ngage/web/uk/en/home.html

Cool Google Logo for Beijing Olympics 2008.
By Mike. Posted in Google, World | 1 Comment »
Aren’t the Google logos good looking? They are so clever! I bet the guys/gals who design them get paid a fortune to sit around and come up with cool ideas.
Talking Olympics. Did you see the opening ceremony? I read somewhere all the dancers were practising their moves for a year to get it right. Talk about perfectionists. They even had a massive fireworks display a couple of days before to test everything out. That must surely scared the shit out of every animal in the vicinity.
Spare a thought for the millions of displaced chinese people who still don’t have homes after that earthquake a couple of months back. I wonder how they feel seeing all this money being wasted on fireworks and the Olympics Ceremony. I guess the UK will be in the same position in 4 years times.
I don’t know about you, but I use the Internet a lot on my Nokia N95. Getting around London has been made a lot easier by using Google Maps on my mobile. They have just updated their awesome software to version 2.2, which boasts new features such as ‘public transport timetables in 60 cities worldwide, faster search results, star ratings for businesses and other user-generated content’.
Watch some Google Geek talk about the new features.
So Google have stepped up their game with Google Mobile. An even faster way to read email on the fly. Once installed on your mobile device, Gmail is only a click or two away. Your messages open nearly instantaneously.
When I tried it on my now "dated" Motorola V635, it installed a little java application and in no time at all I was able to see all my messages, and it was fast. Well, it was as fast as the speed of access the internet, which on this phone is pretty poor. There are all the usual features as you would see on the web site. Very impressive.
Visit gmail.com/app on your mobile web browser.
Talking phones, see my next post.

Sites that caught my eye on the weekend.
By Mike. Posted in Google, World | No Comments »- Fantastic free desktop wallpaper from wallpaper.com.au.
- Super close Google Map/Earth zoom. Big Brother is watching you pick you nose.
- the icon factory - 60+ million pixels pushed.
A good question to ask, considering Google has released Google Page Creator (Beta). If you have a Google account then you will be able to login and create your own custom web page. Google offer some templates and some layouts, but everything else is up to you. They give you 100MB space which is more than enough for even a complex web site.
