F1 BBC team announced for 2009.

By Mike. Posted in F1, Motor | 3 Comments »

It’s fantastic to read that Martin Brundle and Ted Kravitz will line up alongside Jake Humprey, Eddie Jordan and sexy Lee McKenzie. Although I will miss Louise Goodman. She was good at getting the interviews of the drivers that had just crashed out!

Poor old James Allen… Out of a job, although looking at the comments on BlogF1.co.uk there are not many people who wish to see him at the BBC and don’t blame them. The BBC know a cock when they see one!

So close yet so far.

Don't cry for me Brazil.

Poor old Massa was pipped by 1 point just like Hamilton and Alonso last year. That must be a shit feeling. It was almost his for the taking had Glock not faulted on the 2nd last corner of the last lap. Silly man to be on the wrong tyres when there was rain coming, although had he come in for tyres like the rest of them, Hamilton would have been 4th anyhow. Oh well, Massa lost the championship many races ago. Those silly commentators kept on saying Lewis had to push, but he really didn’t.

Lucky for us we won’t be buying a Massa cap after all.

It was a very exciting race though and those that say “F1 is boring”, must be on the herb!
Nothing like a bit of rain to spice things up.

Damn, I can’t wait for F1 2009. New rules, new tyres (slicks) and I’ll be supporting Alonso, Vettel and Kimi next year.

Our English Twenty20 team are almost as bad if not worse that our useless football players. They are paid a fortune to embarress us and this latest match that lasted less than 3 hours must be the cherry on the top.

They had the chance of winning twenty million pounds if they won against the Standford Superstars, but they failed miserably and were all out for less than a 100 runs. I don’t quite see the point of this whole massive prize money for one game.

The entire English Twenty20 team should be sacked. None of them deserve to stay on.

The Stanford Superstars celebrate their victory with their Twenty Million Cheque.

How much does Alonso hate Mclaren?

By Mike. Posted in F1 | No Comments »

Fernando AlonsoAlonso could show the world tomorrow just how much he hates those McLaren boys by passing Kovalainen off the grid and then not braking at the first corner. Wouldn’t that be a sight to see?

Hamilton must be slightly worried sitting there 4th on the grid, with his biggest friend (pictured), sitting right behind him.

Massa’s excellent pole today must give Ferrari a real boost for tomorrow. Massa needs to win tomorrow with Hamilton sixth or lower or if Massa finishes second with Hamilton eighth or lower (i.e., if Hamilton drops out of the race, Massa must finish in the top two positions to become champion).

Last chance.

By Mike. Posted in F1 | No Comments »

Gran Premio Monza 1996 - 02So this weekend is the last race in the Formula 1 calendar.  I guess the 3 qualifying sessions on Saturday are going to be the tensest of the year. Hopefully Massa or Kimi can place their cars on pole position and Hamilton can crash or get stuck somewhere down the bottom of the grid or come last (although we would be very happy if he crashed).

Hamilton’s 7 point lead is a tall order for the Ferrari team, but Massa can still win the title providing he wins with Hamilton sixth or lower or he finishes second with Hamilton eighth or lower (i.e., if Hamilton drops out of the race, Massa must finish in the top two positions to become champion).

It was close last year and no one thought Kimi could pull off a win, let alone win the championship, but he did, so there is always a chance.

Note to Massa: Come on Massa… Lookatbowen.com really don’t like you, but if you win on Sunday, we will buy a Massa supporters cap.

DCIt’s also the last race for David Coulthard. He’s driven 245 races to date. I wonder how many he has actually finished. Recently we have been seeing him a lot off the road or crashed in the gravel trap. I think he has had a good career, and lets hope he doesn’t give up the F1 completely. Rumours are rife that he will be joining the commentry team at the BBC next year.  Having him share his experiences along with Martin Brundle would be very much welcomed.

ForceIndia

Force India have one last chance of scoring a point for the 2008 season. Had Kimi not crashed up the back of Adrian Sutil back at the Monaco Grand Prix, they would have 6 points now and looking forward to next years racing. Although saying that if you look at that accident, Kimi was out of control a long way before he hit Sutil.

CockWhich brings me nicely to another person whose last race is on Sunday. That idiot of a commentator James “cock” Allen. Honestly there will be no tears shed after he signs off on Sunday. (Strangely enough I searched him using my Insights Wordpress Plugin, and surprisingly there are no photos of him. There were loads of photos for Ferrari, Coulthard, Massa, Hamilton and Cock).

Finally, I hope ITV really milk the advert time slots that they have on Saturday & Sunday, as it will be the last time they broadcast the F1 and kill the excitement with their crappy adverts slots. The BBC have promised that all races next year will be free of adverts and that is probably the one thing we look forward to the most, and of course not listening to the cock.

Did you hear the gaff this idiot made today at the Singapore Grand Prix? He referred to one of the drivers seat as a “teat“. He quickly rectified his words after he realized what he had said.

Only three more races and hopefully we never have to listen to him again. That will almost be as good as not hearing about Lewis F’king Hamilton from those biased ITV idiots, not to mention there will be no adverts with the BBC. I can’t wait!

Awesome race by Alonso & Rosberg. As for Kimi and Massa and that silly automated stop-go traffic light in the pits thing they have going. I wonder how many mechanics they need to run over before Ferrari realize it is not working for them?

As for Domenicalli, they need to fire him. He is useless. Bring back Jean Todt. He knew what he was doing.

I stumbled upon a really cool website called Cartoons Caricatures and as the name implies it’s a site about cartoons drawn by various Singapore artists.

It is a Wordpress blog and their latest cartoons have a F1 theme, which is fitting since they are hosting the first ever F1 night race this weekend. Take a look. The whole site is really cool. A lot of talent for sure.

Did you watch the Belgium grand prix? What did you think of the last 4 laps when it started to rain?

Oh Kimi!, What has come over the iceman? He is meant to be the best F1 driver in the world and should be able to drive in any conditions, rain or shine, but he clearly lost the plot in those last few laps. He crashed all by himself, so no blame can be put on Lewis Hamilton for that.

But, how about Hamilton cutting the corner and barely giving Kimi the position back. Backing off and going 6km/hr slower… Pa-lease…. that is hardly backing off. How much slower would he have been had he taken the corner? That is the question they should ask. I bet NOT 6km/hr. I was surprised at the time that the stewards didn’t give him a stop - go penalty, but they certainly came to their senses after the race.

The London Motor Show 2008.

By Mike. Posted in Motor | No Comments »

IMG_7192 (Large).JPGWe visited the Motor show at Excel in London Docklands on Thursday evening. Got in for free, which is always a nice touch. We were only there for 2 hours, but got to see all the cars in the two large halls. Obviously there was a lot more on the go outside, but it was very enjoyable none of the less.

IMG_7119 (Large).JPGI have added all the photos to our Photo Gallery.

It was interesting to see all the “Green ECO cars” this year, although none of them I would be seen dead in. (well may the new Lotus, although it was made of grass and chip board…not sure how safe that is). I think we are still a long way off from seeing normal looking cars running on Hydrogen or water or something other than petrol.

I think the Motor Show in 2006 was much better than this one with more cars on show. This show seemed to be very spaced out, although I did notice a lot more racing games on show at each of the stands. Still definitely worth a visit if you love motor cars and super cars.

I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to this weekend. This will be the first time in a month that I actually have a whole weekend to myself. All three previous weekends have been taken up by work.

Today is Independance day in the US. Let’s hope that alien spaceship with it’s big laser can take out George W. Bush properly this time. Wouldn’t the world be so lucky.

Remember the film Top Gun, that cheesy movie from the 80’s with Maverick, Goose, Cougar and Iceman and of course the very sexy Charlie played by Kelly Mcgillis?

or do you remember the catchy theme tune (anthem) that was played every time Maverick did something stupid like ‘a fly past‘ which Commander Mike "Viper" Metcalf gave strict instructions not to do.

Do you remember it? - Well if you don’t, then fear not as I know someone who can hum it for you (Hey James, is it ok if I give out your mobile number 07955 555 555).
Anyway, because it’s a holiday today for some reason XBOX 360 have released the Top Gun Theme tune for free to all Guitar Hero III fans. James and I have downloaded it already, and it’s pretty awesome. I just wish I was sitting in that cockpit, but playing a guitar and flying would be a problem. I’ve completed it with five stars already on Medium difficulty. It was a little tricky in the middle, but the rest is easy.

Still on the topic of Guitar Hero, I bought the Aerosmith pack. It’s very cool, although there are only 41 songs, and most of them are not their main hits, which is a shame. The best songs for me is ‘Livin on the edge and Love in elevator‘. It is a lot easier that Guitar Hero III for some reason or other, although that is a bad thing, because it gives one a chance to tackle some of the harder levels.

Moving on… this weekend is action packed although if you can call Wimbledon in the rain action packed, then there is clearly something wrong with you. The Andrew Murray game the other day was exciting, but I can’t imagine another game like that this weekend.

There is also Formula 1 at Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix (for how much longer Damon Hill)?

My money is on Kimi and Ferrari to hopefully ditch the bad luck and show the rest of the pack just how fast they are. Lets hope Massa doesn’t steal his thunder again and we can only hope and pray that the arrogant **** of an idiot in Mclaren only crashes himself and no one else. (Perhaps Lewis should swap places with his Daddy… although they are both accident prone). I read somewhere that they were on a yacht recently or in a race of some sorts and their yacht crashed into another boat before the race even begun.

Saw an interesting article on the Idiot over at PaddyPower.com about his decision to live in Switzerland. It’s quite funny, you should read it.

Damn, I see Coulthard is planning to retire soon. That is a shame. Pity Button is doing the same. He has no future where he is at the moment.

Please note: My comments on this site are purely my thoughts and feelings and since it’s my website, if you don’t like what you read, then you can quite easily go else where.
